Updates on Elections, Food, Jobs

- SRC Elections! Most of our committee will be wrapped up in exams by the end of the year, and when we're done, it will already by time to usher in the new SRC 11/12. YOU can be part of that change. A lot of things are well within the realm of possibility, and I urge every eligible candidate (if you are a semester 2 or 3 student NEXT semester) to consider. All positions are open.

- Food. Shirley's our student lounge caterer is pulling out due to "low sales and food wastage".
So we won't have healthy food for a while, but we'll be bringing in another caterer to help supplement the healthy food supply. We'll keep you updated.

As for Darabif, I've found out that their truck has broken down and needs servicing. They'll be back with us.

I strongly urge all students to support the new caterer that comes in. Otherwise we will have a healthy food shortage problem again. Please spread the word.



- Jobs! Interested in working part-time for a bit of extra cash? IMU has several attractive part-time staff (PTS) options for you!

1. ITS (POSITIONS AVAILABLE!)
   The IT department of IMU is willing to employ students, especially those who are on semester break, as they have voiced to me. They require responsible students. It's a fairly stress-free job, where you'll be trained to help assist in improving the IT services in IMU (don't worry, you won't be thrown into the sharks) and stand-by for any problems that the students face with IT services, e.g., after hours from 6:30pm-9:30pm. You'll be reporting to En. Awang and En. Ibrahim.
   
2. NEW! IMU HEALTHCARE (POSITIONS AVAILABLE!)
   After negotiating with Mr. Kevin and Sr. Anne from the IMU Healthcare, we are pleased to announce students are now allowed to work part-time at the IMU Healthcare center as either clinic assistants or front desk clerks. An excerpt of what part-time students might be expected to do:
   

   The part-time staff is required to assist the clinicians and  the necessary treatment as required and occasionally they will double up as receptionist cum cashier.They will cover the evening sessions and Saturdays, and when necessary when the staff goes on leave.

   It is a great opportunity indeed, as we are in training to become healthcare professionals!
   
3. NEW! MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT (LIMITED POSITIONS AVAILABLE!)
   An excerpt from what Ms. Aishah from SSD has emailed regarding this position:
   

   We are looking for part timer to work in Marketing & Communications Dept. Preferably if you can start on 1 Nov or asap.
